Artist Residency at Sinopale: International Sinop Biennale
24.9.–4.10.2026
Following Undercurrents, Brunnenpassage's 2026 production developed in the frame of Klima Biennale Wien, Şırıl şırıl – What Waters Remember continues an artistic exploration of listening as a practice of connecting territories, memories, and bodies of water in Sinop, Turkey. Developed during an artist residency at Sinopale: International Sinop Biennale, the project brings the waters and memories of the Danube into dialogue with the Black Sea, tracing the entanglements of ecological crisis, cultural memory, and shared responsibility. Through collective listening, field recordings, and sound walks with local participants, it explores how listening can challenge dominant ways of knowing and cultivate more reciprocal relationships with place. The process culminates in a site-specific sonic installation and collective intervention that invites listening as a practice of care, reciprocity, and collective imagination.
