Ab März beginnt Shhh… Zuhören mit Wasser als Teil des künstlerischen Projekts Undercurrents im Rahmen der Klima Biennale Wien das kokreative Labor. In dieser Reihe von Listening Sessions sind Teilnehmende eingeladen, Wasser als Träger von Erinnerung zu erforschen und den unterirdischen, oft ungehörten Strömungen zu lauschen. Basierend auf der Methode des Deep Listening wird Stimmen, Klänge und Geschichten des Brunnenviertels zugehört. Die Workshops wechseln zwischen zwei Schwerpunkten: dem Zuhören mit dem Markt und mit dem Bunker unter dem Yppenplatz. Das entstehende Material wird Teil eines wachsenden Listening-Archivs und bildet die Basis für die ortsspezifische Klangkomposition und Listening Prozession Undercurrents am 8.5.2026.
Eine Teilnahme an allen Terminen ist nicht verpflichtend, wird jedoch empfohlen, da sich der gemeinsame Hörraum über die Zeit hinweg entfaltet.

Shhh… Listening with Waters enters a co-creative phase from March onwards as part of the artistic project Undercurrents in the frame of Klima Biennale Wien. In a series of listening sessions, participants are invited to explore water as a carrier of memory and listen with the invisible subterranean, often underheard currents that connect us to the great body of water of which we are all a part.
Based on practices of Deep Listening, we listen together to the voices, sounds, and stories of the Brunnenviertel—its streets, fountains, underground flows, market spaces, hidden underground infrastructures, and lived histories to their waters.The workshops alternate between two focuses: listening with the market and listening with the bunker beneath Yppenplatz. The emerging material becomes part of a growing listening archive and forms the basis for the site-specific sound composition and listening procession Undercurrents — Waters that Remember on May 8th 2026.
Though not required, participation in all sessions is encouraged, as a shared listening space unfolds over time.
