Mobile Akademie Berlin: Memory, Speak!
Eine Performance über die Gegenwart und zukünftige Ereignisse / Sa 11.4.2026 + So 12.4.2026
Erinnerung ist die Komplizin des Vergessens, der Beschwörung und der erzählerischen Konstruktion. Sie akzeptiert keine harten Grenzen zwischen Gestern und Heute, passiert genau jetzt und ist auf die Zukunft gerichtet. Mit ihr lässt sich kein Staat machen.
MEMORY, SPEAK! bringt drei verschiedene Praxen des Erinnerns auf die Bühne in der Brunnenpassage:
- Öffentliches Casting für eine Langzeitdokumentation
Eine Jüry sucht in einem dialogbasierten Interviewprozess nach 11 Kandidat*innen für eine filmische Langzeitdokumentation von Anna Jermolaewa (2026–2036). Was werden sie erinnert haben werden?
- Kasala – Ein künstlerisch re-inszeniertes Erinnerungsritual
Das Video des Künstler*innen-Duos Mukenge/Schellhammer re-inszeniert die traditionelle Erinnerungspraxis Kasala, das bei Familienfesten in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo praktiziert wird.
- Black Caribbean Radio – ein Hörbeitrag zum Petersilienmassaker
Sarah Lewis Cappellari und Anton Kats begeben sich auf eine poetologische und musikalische Spurensuche nach den vergessenen Stimmen des Massakers von 1937 in der Dominikanischen Republik.
MEMORY, SPEAK! bietet Theater über 12 Stunden, simultan an mehreren Stationen, in einem Raum.
Das Publikum bewegt sich frei und wählt auf verschiedenen Kanälen per Kopfhörer, welchen Erzählungen es folgen möchte.

Das Projekt wird begleitet mit einer Lehrveranstaltung des Co.Lab für Erinnerungsarbeit • ästhetisch-politische Praktiken der Kunstuniversität Linz. Gefördert von der Stadt Wien Kultur.

MEMORY, SPEAK!
A performance about the present and future events
Memory is the accomplice of forgetting, invocation, and storytelling. It accepts no rigid boundaries between yesterday and today, happens right now, and is oriented toward the future. Damit lässt sich kein Staat machen – no state can be built on it – as the German proverb goes.
MEMORY, SPEAK! brings three different practices of remembering to the stage at Brunnenpassage in Vienna:
Public casting for a long-term documentary
For a filmic long-term documentary by Anna Jermolaewa, a jury conducts interviews with 11 candidates. What will they have remembered?
Kasala – a remembrance ritual for the art scene
The video by the artist duo Mukenge/Schellhammer re-enacts a traditional remembrance practice performed at family celebrations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Black Caribbean Radio – a forgotten genocide
How do you remember lives that have been cut out of history and yet continue to pulse stubbornly beneath it? Through sound, music, and stories, Sarah Lewis-Capellari and Anton Kats follow the traces of the 1937 Parsley Massacre in the Dominican Republic.
MEMORY, SPEAK! offers 12 hours of theatre, simultaneously over several stations within a single space. The audience can move freely and choose via headphones on different channels which narratives to follow.
