This day takes place in the heart of the city, ­bringing food and activism into the public space. Migrant, diasporic, and local communities gather under open tents for cooking, storytelling, performances, and food sharing. The market becomes a commons of resistance, culture, and nourishment. With members of the diasporic communities of Sudan, Congo, Palestine, Syria, Kurdistan, and Philippines in Vienna we wanna highlight food sovereignty from a community based perspective with storytelling and sharing. Through Communal Cooking Practices and a Long Table to gather and share, the aim is to reclaim space and communal practices: Join us in preparing and sharing a meal, co-created by migrant local food makers.

A ritual performance using ancestral voices and food as a language of transformation and ­remembrance.
