We are incredibly sorry that the Theaterworkshop "Be yourself" with Fatemeh Motamed Arya and Afsaneh Mahian on Mon the 5th of June 2023 has to be cancelled.
We just got informed the artists where denied to exit Iran and travel to Austria.
Hence, unfortunately also the performance of "The Child" at Wiener Festwochen has to be cancelled.

We deeply regret this, not only because the play itself deals with the themes of demarcation, migration and solidarity very impressively, but also because it is a great example of the power of contemporary Iranian theatre.
We are very concerned about that situation and keep in touch with the artists.

The participants of this workshop are working on questions like: How can we test ourselves in the face of small and everyday problems and know where we are and who we are? Therefore, techniques are designed to train the participants to free themselves and indulge, including breathing, expression, and the body, to reach a collective harmony and participation by focusing on short Etudes. Afterwards, in the second part, participants’ imagination and self-confidence are challenged for performing, and at the end, by choosing a topic, each of them will perform a monologue piece.

چگونه می‌توان در رودررویی با مشکلات کوچک و روزمره خودمان را محک بزنیم و بدانیم کجا هستیم و چه کسی هستیم. در این ورک شاپ تکنیک هایی برای‌ رهاسازی شرکت کنندگان که‌ شامل تنفس، بيان، بدن، طراحی شده تا با تمرکز در اتوودهای کوتاه به‌ یک هماهنگی و مشارکت جمعی برسند. سپس، در بخش دوم، قدرت تخیل و اعتماد به نفس افراد برای اجرا به چالش کشیده می‌شود و در پایان با انتخاب يک موضوع هرکدام يک قطعه مونولوگ را اجرا می‌کنند.

The workshop will be held bilingual in English and Farsi.

The Workshop takes place in cooperation with Wiener Festwochen 2023 in the framework of the production "The Child".
