Contemporary circus in the framework of IDENTITY\2020 Art & Music Festival
Fr, 09.10.2020, 19:00 Uhr

The Sofa Project has been developed by creator and performer Marija Baranauskaitė (Lithuania/France) as a work in progress by mixing contemporary dance, clownery, bufoon, performance art, music and video disciplines for human and non-human audiences.
Through movement and dry humour the project deals with the issues of the relationships between the human and sofas. How are we as human beings related to sofas? What can we discover about ourselves and others (human and non-human) in these relationships? Can sofas perform with or instead of human performers and can humans perform for sofas? How much consciousness is needed to be an audience member? And the performer? The project offers another approach to the performing arts and develops new ways of experiencing circus.
